POLARO® C 250 l – 12 V salt, sand and grit spreader

LEHNER POLARO® C – a professional 12 V spreader for winter maintenance work with a 250 l stainless-steel hopper. The unit is designed for spreading salt, sand and grit. Thanks to its large capacity and low center of gravity, it is especially suitable for use with tractors, wheeled and telescopic loaders with adequate lifting capacity.

The spreading width can be continuously adjusted from 0.8 to 6 m, so the POLARO® C can be adapted both for narrow driveways and for larger yards and areas. With additional equipment, the spreading width can be increased up to 12 m.

The electronic system enables precise adjustment of the spread material rate, and the spreading parameters can be controlled using the LAS4 control unit or the LEHNER LISA app.

Precise spreading from 0.8 to 6 meters

The spreading width of the POLARO® C is adjusted by changing the rotation speed of the spreading disc. The working width can be continuously set from 0.8 to 6 m even during operation.

This allows the spreader to be adapted to different areas and provides more precise control of spread material distribution.

250 l stainless-steel hopper

The POLARO® C features a robust 250-liter stainless-steel hopper. The frame, slide gate, spreading disc and mixing mechanism are also made of stainless steel. A large filling opening, integrated grid and bag cutter make it easier to pour in salt, sand or grit. If the standard 250 l capacity is not sufficient, with additional extensions the capacity can be increased to 375 l or 500 l.

Convenient electronic control

The spread material rate is adjusted electronically. The POLARO® C can be controlled using the LAS4 control unit, and for additional control options – the LEHNER LISA app. Optionally, the LAS4 control system can be supplied with the AUTO-DOSIS function. 

Technical data: 

Increase hopper capacity to 375 or 500 l

The standard 250 l hopper of the LEHNER POLARO® C can be increased using additional stainless-steel hopper extensions.

Two variants are available:

• additional 125 l hopper extension – total capacity increases to 375 l;
• additional 250 l hopper extension – total capacity increases to 500 l.

The hopper extension kit is factory-prepared for installation together with the lid, grid insert and bag opening device. The POLARO® C can be supplied fully assembled and ready for use together with the selected additional hopper extension.

Additional 125 l and 250 l stainless-steel hopper extensions can be purchased separately.

Stainless-steel hopper – convenient, safe and practical

The large filling opening allows the POLARO® C to be filled conveniently and quickly with spread material. The lockable stainless-steel lid helps protect the hopper contents, and the integrated grid insert makes it easier to place and open bags of spread material. The grid helps ensure that only suitable bulk material enters the hopper. This reduces the risk of clogging and mechanical damage to the unit. 

Standard equipment compliant with Lithuanian road traffic requirements

LEHNER POLARO® C - the standard specification includes marking and lighting elements required by Lithuanian road traffic regulations. 

Standard equipment includes:

• square warning signs;
• rear lights;
• round reflectors;
• license plate holder with illumination.

LAS 4 control unit with hopper empty indicator

The LAS 4 control unit allows convenient control of the main POLARO® C functions directly from the operator’s workstation.

Using the control unit, you can:

• switch the spreader on and off;
• continuously adjust the spreading width by changing the rotation speed of the spreading disc;
• adjust the slide gate position and the spread material rate;
• monitor the electrical system voltage;
• receive information about the remaining spread material in the hopper.

When the minimum amount of spread material in the hopper is reached or the slide gate position is incorrect, the system alerts the operator with a visual and audible signal. Even greater operating comfort and dosing accuracy can be ensured by the speed-dependent AUTO-DOSIS system. 

Control via the LEHNER LISA app

The POLARO® C can also be selected in a version controlled via the LEHNER LISA app instead of the traditional control unit.

This solution is especially convenient for users who want to reduce the number of cables in the vehicle cab and control the main spreader functions via a mobile device.

Required for control:

• compatible mobile device;
• free LEHNER LISA app;
• mobile device holder, which is not included in the standard spreader package.

LEHNER spreaders that support LISA control are designed as a separate closed control system.

Important: an existing LEHNER spreader with a traditional control unit cannot be converted later to a LISA app-controlled version.

Electronic dosing of spread material

The spread rate of the POLARO® C is set electronically – using the LAS 4 control unit or the LISA app, depending on the selected spreader version. This allows the operator to precisely set the required amount of spread material and adapt the unit’s operation to specific conditions. Optionally, the AUTO-DOSIS system can be used, which automatically adjusts spread material dosing according to driving speed. In POLARO® versions controlled via the LISA app, the AUTO-DOSIS function is integrated as part of the manufacturer’s specified equipment. 

Stainless-steel mixing mechanism

The POLARO® C is equipped with a stainless-steel mixing mechanism. The patented LEHNER mixing system helps ensure a constant and even feed of bulk spread material into the dosing zone. This is especially important when working with salt, sand or other bulk materials that can settle or compact in the hopper over time.
