PolyTex® protective coating for wood chips and compost is a professional solution for farms, biofuel producers, composting sites and companies that store wood chips, biomass or compost outdoors.

The coating is made of strong polypropylene continuous fibers, making it resistant to tearing, UV rays, frost and adverse weather conditions. The breathable structure allows moisture and vapor to escape from the inside, and the water-repellent surface helps to direct rainwater away from the product being coated.

When used on wood chips, PolyTex® coating helps reduce the risk of waterlogging, mold growth and quality loss. Dryer and better preserved wood chips can provide more efficient biofuel use and higher energy value.

When used for compost, the cover helps maintain the proper moisture balance: it protects against excess rainwater, allows steam to escape, and reduces the risk of the compost drying out due to sun and wind. This creates more favorable conditions for the formation of high-quality humus.

Usage recommendations:

• Stack wood chips, biomass or compost in a way that allows rainwater to run off the surface.
• Place the cover on the pile and tighten it well.
• Secure the edges securely with silage bags, fixing nails or FixTex strips.
• Avoid loose-hanging areas of the coating, as strong winds can damage it.
• Periodically check that the coating remains securely attached after strong winds or rain.
• Keep the coating dry and protected from mechanical damage when not in use.

Important to know:

PolyTex® is not your typical plastic sheet or airtight tarpaulin. It is a breathable, water-repellent protective coating that helps to divert rainwater away from the surface and allows moisture and vapor to escape from the inside.

For best results, the coating must be properly applied, tensioned and secured. The product to be coated should be stacked in such a way that water can drain off the surface.
