Effective trap for monitoring and catching the large pine weevil  (Hylobius abietis)

WitaTrap® Weevil Trap Tube is used to detect the appearance of the large pine weevil and to control it. Only properly constructed traps guarantee the desired trapping success. The beetle is specifically attracted by the added attractant (pheromone = gilovite). It enters the collection tube through the edges of the entry openings, which narrow inward and it can no longer get out.  

• Delivery unit: 1 set = 1 WitaTrap® ] trap tube, including 1 HyloWit® attractant (pheromone).
• The trap has inspection holes at both ends, and caps for easy opening and closing.
• On the lower drainage side of the tube there are two small holes to ensure optimal water drainage.
• Application rate: 6-10 collector tubes per hectare.
• The trapping tube must be checked every 1–2 weeks.
• HyloWit® attractant is placed in the trap tube and works for about 6-8 weeks.
• Assembled tube length: 61 cm.

Use – 6-10 traps per hectare:

1. In the selected location, the soil is loosened to a depth of about  20 cm.
2. The Hylowit® pheromone stick is placed into the trap.
3. The trap is pressed into the already loosened spot with the drainage openings until the entry sponges merge with the soil.
4. The trap is carefully adjusted and sealed with soil, which must remain loose; the remaining soil is leveled.
