Pheromone traps are ideal for reducing the number of harmful moths and beetles in your gardens.

    Pest biology:

    Pest: codling moth
    Latin name: Cydia pomonella
    Plant: apple (pear)

    1 trap set includes:

    - 1 trap body (WitaTrap® Delta Super trap),
    - 2 sticky bases (packed separately!).
    - 2 lures with pheromones (packed separately!).
    - 1 hanging cord for assembly and
    - detailed instructions, description.

    Main symptoms:

    • Larvae damage fruit by boring holes into it.
    • Droppings are visible in the holes.
    • Fruit falls prematurely.

The main flight period of the first generation is May and June\/July.
Main flight period of the second generation: under favorable climatic conditions, development of a second generation is possible, which then flies later in July\/August months.

    Use:

Depending on the application, assemble the trap and attach it with the supplied wire. (Exact assembly instructions and area of application are described in detail for each pheromone trap.) To prevent the pest from being attracted directly to the protected plants, the traps should be hung, for example, on another nearby tree. If this is not possible, the traps can be attached to a stake. Hang the traps between the prevailing wind direction and at the tree’s eye level. The trap entrances must not be blocked by branches or leaves. Each trap should be checked every 2–3 days. Each time the trap is checked, the sticky base must be cleaned of stuck insects, using an auxiliary tool if necessary (e.g., a twig, a wooden spatula) to preserve the entire adhesive surface.

The traps must be hung before the moth starts flying.
